Stations of the Cross

The members of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish and Christ Episcopal Church will once again gather together during Lent on Sunday evenings beginning at 5:30 PM to observe the Stations of the Cross, followed by a brief discussion on the similarities and differences found among Lutherans, Episcopalians and Roman Catholics. Lasting about an hour, these sessions will be held on February 21, 28, March 7, 14, 21, and 28 in the sanctuary of Christ Episcopal (1217 Third Avenue, New Brighton).

Mid-Week Lenten Services

A rather brief service (30-45 minutes), we will celebrate a simple, spoken Eucharist.  This year's sermon series is entitled Who Wants Jesus to Die? After Ash Wednesday (February 17), we will gather in the main sanctuary for the six remaining Wednesdays of Lent (February 24, March 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31) at 7:00 PM. A simple "bread and soup" dinner will precede each of these services at 6:00 PM in the upstairs Social Room.

New Brighton Ministerium Lenten Lunches

Held each Wednesday during Lent from Noon until 12:50 PM, each program includes a simple lunch followed by devotions.  This year's devotions are entitled Stories of the Savior: Our Lord's Parables.   The Lenten Lunches are hosted at the New Brighton United Methodist Church, located across from the New Brighton post office.  Suggested offering for lunch is $1.50, and all members of the New Brighton community are invited to attend.
